Clover Legends Chain Guide: A Reliable Sequence

Reviewed 2026-09-16Unofficial player article

Make the opening connect, choose a follow-up with a purpose, and revisit your Chain sequence when book milestones add spells.

Start using Chain in Clover Legends with a short attack sequence you can finish safely. Chain belongs to the game's growth group of grimoires, but the name alone does not tell you which attacks connect; inspect the equipped book and practice the moves actually available to you.

Make the first connection repeatable

Choose an enemy you can fight without immediately being surrounded. Use an available attack from a position where you can see the target, then watch whether the hit connects. Repeat from a similar position before treating the result as the start of a useful sequence.

This gameplay overview shows the relationship between a book, its available attacks and the surrounding encounter. It provides combat context for the test; inspect your own Chain panel for the moves you can perform.

Add the follow-up only when it has a job

A follow-up should solve a problem left by the first action: an enemy still in reach, a target that moved, or pressure that requires you to reposition. If the first move missed, adding more attacks makes it harder to identify the original mistake. Fix the opening first.

Treat this as a practice method, not a prescribed input string. A combo that depends on a move you have not unlocked cannot be evaluated fairly with only the opening attacks. Likewise, a longer sequence is not automatically better if it leaves you unable to respond to the enemy.

Revisit the sequence when the book develops

Book Level 10 and 20 unlock spells inside the grimoire you already carry. At each milestone, inspect the panel and test the added move by itself before fitting it after the opening. This makes it clearer whether the new action changes reach, timing or the part of the encounter you can finish.

Use the beginner session route to keep practice attached to a manageable objective. The roster is useful when comparing Chain with another book, while spin decisions cover a genuine desire to replace the magic style.

Does the growth group guarantee better results?

No. It identifies Chain's place in the game description. Reliable placement, available spells and a sequence you can complete remain practical checks before judging the book.
